Miracle Monday | The Storm Cannot Cancel Your Assignment

My beloved friend,

Last week, we began an important teaching from the powerful story found in Acts 27 and Paul’s extraordinary encounter with God in the midst of a raging storm. Although these events took place nearly two thousand years ago, their message speaks to us with as much relevance and urgency as today’s newspaper. We began this mini-series, Cut the Ropes, by discovering what happens when everything we have trusted begins to disappear and God calls us to place our confidence completely in Him. Today, I want to take you deeper into this remarkable passage and show you another life-changing truth: when God has placed an assignment upon your life, no storm, circumstance, opposition, or impossibility can cancel what He has declared.

There is something God has placed within your heart—an assignment, a calling, a promise, perhaps even a dream that seems far greater than your natural ability to accomplish. And there may be moments when circumstances become so difficult that you begin to wonder, Did I really hear from God? Can what He showed me ever become reality?

I want to encourage you this Miracle Monday with a powerful truth from Acts 27:

The storm cannot cancel your assignment.

Paul was aboard a ship caught in a terrifying storm. For days the winds raged. The sailors could not see the sun or stars. They threw cargo overboard, and eventually Luke tells us that “all hope that we should be saved was then taken away” (Acts 27:20).

But while everyone else saw disaster, Paul had something stronger than the storm.

He had a word from God.

An angel of the Lord stood beside him and declared:

“Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar” (Acts 27:24).

Oh, beloved, I love that word must!

God had an assignment for Paul in Rome. The storm could rage. The ship could break apart. The cargo could disappear into the sea. But none of it could cancel what God had declared.

Paul stood before those frightened men and said:

“I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me” (Acts 27:25).

Perhaps today you need to make that declaration yourself:

I believe God!

I may not understand how He will do it.
I may not see the resources.
I may not know the people He will use.
I may not understand the pathway.

But I believe God.

When God gives you a supernatural assignment, don’t measure it by natural circumstances. Don’t surrender your promise because the winds are blowing against you. Don’t interpret opposition as cancellation.

Remember the promise of Isaiah:

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please” (Isaiah 55:11).

If God has declared it, He will accomplish it.

Whatever He has genuinely spoken into your heart, hold onto it. Believe Him for it. Act in faith. Stand in agreement with His Word. Do not give up.

Hebrews 10:35-36 tells us:

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

Beloved, don’t throw away your confidence because the answer has not yet appeared. The presence of a storm does not mean the absence of God. Sometimes the greatest opposition comes while we are moving directly toward the assignment He has given us.

And this is why I believe so deeply in the power of the seed.

Giving is not simply a financial transaction. Sowing your seed is an act of worship. It is a declaration of faith. It says, “Lord Jesus, everything I have comes from You, everything I am belongs to You, and I trust You with my future.”

My precious partner, God has given me an assignment too.

My assignment is the world.

He has placed within me a consuming love for souls and a longing to proclaim the Gospel of our wonderful Jesus to the nations. In just the coming days, that assignment is taking me to South Africa and other regions of Africa, where precious souls are waiting to hear the message of salvation, healing, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
