My Dear Friend,
Welcome to Sacred Sunday. Over the past two messages, we have been studying the remarkable life of Isaac and discovering timeless principles that still speak to us today. First, we looked at Isaac sowing during a devastating famine. Then we considered how God often gives His children divine ideas and unexpected wisdom that lead to extraordinary blessing.
Today, I want to take that truth one step further.
One of the most beautiful lessons in Isaac’s life is this: God blessed him before the rain ever came.
The circumstances never improved before Isaac obeyed. The famine had not ended. The skies had not opened. The fields still appeared barren. Everything around him suggested failure, yet Isaac chose to trust the Lord instead of his circumstances.
Scripture tells us:
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.” (Genesis 26:12)
Notice the order.
Isaac sowed first.
God blessed afterward.
The harvest followed his obedience.
That is still God’s pattern today.
Our faith has never been dependent upon favorable circumstances. In fact, the greatest miracles in Scripture were often born in the most impossible situations. Noah built the ark before there was rain. Moses stretched out his rod before the sea divided. The widow gave Elijah her last meal before her flour multiplied. Peter stepped out of the boat before he walked on the water.
Faith always moves before circumstances change.
The Apostle Paul reminds us:
“We walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
And Hebrews declares:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
Your first step of obedience may seem small, but Heaven sees it differently. Every act of faith honors God, and every seed sown in obedience becomes an invitation for His supernatural power to move. Before the harvest ever appears, before the answer arrives, before the breakthrough becomes visible, God is already at work behind the scenes preparing what only He can provide.
That is why I never want you to measure God’s faithfulness by today’s circumstances. Your present season does not determine your future harvest. The covenant promises of God are greater than the conditions surrounding you.
When you honor the Lord with your faith, your worship, and your giving, something wonderful is set into motion. I believe it triggers Heaven’s blessing. As the Lord promised in His Word:
“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” (Deuteronomy 28:2)
What a magnificent promise!
Not just enough.
Not barely making it.
But blessings that overtake you.
Blessings that exceed your expectations.
Blessings that remind you God has been working all along, even when you could not yet see the harvest.

Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep honoring the Lord. The God who blessed Isaac before the rain came is the same God who is working on your behalf today.
