Today’s Key Scripture

“Not a hair will fall from the head of any of you.”

—Acts 27:34

On his final journey to Rome, Paul was a prisoner on a ship with 276 passengers. After two weeks of storm-tossed seas, the apostle was the only person who knew the meaning of peace. Paul not only urged them to eat for survival, but reassured them of safety (Acts 27:33-34).

In times of testing, only supernatural peace from above can calm the storm.

Twice, in 1983 and 1995, I have known what it was like to be near the point of death during a journey. The first time, while flying over Florida at 11,000 feet, we ran out of fuel. Then, 22 years later, I faced dire circumstances while returning from a miracle crusade in Japan, when instrument failure meant that we were lost somewhere over the Pacific Ocean.

In each case, I immediately began to pray. Although the circumstances were impossible in the natural, I felt a supernatural assurance that everything was going to be all right. We survived both times, to God be the glory!

I have seen the Holy Spirit turn chaos into peace many, many times. And I am a living testimony to His ability to do so. Today, allow Him to touch the chaos in your life with His deep and abiding peace.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, I ask for Your supernatural peace in my life. May nothing separate me from You and Your many benefits today. Teach me how to choose only Your way today. Help me so each step leads me deeper and deeper into Your presence. Help me to keep my heart pure. And keep me from being distracted by my own desires, my own wants, and my ideas on how things should turn out. I pray this in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.
