Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted)

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

—1 John 3:22

The apostle Stephen’s life shows he was a man who was faithful to what God called him. He also was a powerful example of how the anointing can increase upon you as you yield your life to the Lord’s mighty infilling presence:

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. —Acts 6:5-8, KJV

You cannot operate in the power of God until you have the faith that brings you up to that position. In other words, your level of faith must increase before your level of anointing increases with it.

Once faith begins to increase, the anointing becomes stronger and penetrates your entire being.

The apostle Stephen understood this. And it all begins with prayer!

A Prayer for Today:

Father God, I pray today that You will move the Spirit more boldly in my life than ever before. Help me yearn for Your presence more than I desire sin or any distraction that would keep me from You. Help me grow in the fruit of the Spirit. Give me the revelation that leads me to walk closer with Yourself. I pray for guidance from your Spirit to know Your perfect will. Anoint me afresh. Pour Your anointing over me. Help me to avoid withholding any of myself from You. I pray this in the glorious Name of Jesus, Amen!
