Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should [a]not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

—John 3:14-16

Where are you looking today?

God commanded Moses to construct a bronze serpent and place it on a pole. Why? The Word of God says that whoever looked on that bronze serpent was healed.

Christ on the cross, bearing the sins of mankind upon His own body is powerfully pictured by this symbol. Serpents had bitten the people in the wilderness, and many of them were dying. God told Moses that if the people would look upon the bronze serpent, they would live.

Those who looked believed for a healing. And today, whoever believes that Jesus came and died, and is the Savior and the Healer, will be healed. Whoever looks up to the Lord Jesus on the cross with eyes of faith will find wholeness.

Look to Him today and in Him you will find all that you need. I love the words to the great old hymn:

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

In the light of His glory and grace.

As you look upon the precious Lord Jesus, all else fades away. Your moments in prayer and fellowship with His Holy Spirit can be the most precious moments every day!

A Prayer for Today:

Good morning, Holy Spirit! I ask you to help me live according to Your purpose. Help me keep my eyes on You and all that You did for me at Calvary. Drive all wrong desires and thoughts away from me, even to the point that the things of the earth grow increasingly dim and useless. Guide my feet in the path of peace and joy. Grant me intimate fellowship with You, even as You reveal Your purpose for my life. I rejoice to give You thanks, through Jesus Christ my Lord, Amen!
