Today’s Key Scripture
“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”
— Psalm 2:8
During the entire month of May, the focus has been on constant contact with God, which is crucial to the overall message of these Good Morning, Holy Spirit, Daily Devotionals. This “capstone” on the last day of May points to one of the greatest needs today.
We are in a battle for souls. Battles with the Enemy require a powerful, fresh anointing. The anointing is always given for service and for spiritual warfare to be used for God’s glory.
As a young believer, the Lord opened this passage in Psalm 2 to me. It’s a prayer every believer should pray. It is a prayer for God’s power to touch the world for the cause of Christ.
As you spend time with the Lord in prayer every day, your fellowship with God will increase, and He will draw you into a deeper, closer, and greater walk with Him, anointing you with His presence and power. And that constant contact will certainly lead you into a hunger to reach others for Christ.
The risen Christ has anointed you to go and spread the message of His love—His saving, healing, and delivering power, and He said:
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
As you go forth, follow Jesus’ example in prayer, word, and deed, as you seek to share with the lost and hurting what God has done in your life.
A Prayer for Today
Righteous God, I want more of You today. And as I hunger and thirst for You, help me to increasingly be aware of Your desire for me to be used in Your service to reach others. I thank You for every door that You are opening for me, and I surrender myself to You, even as I desire to become closer and more intimate with You every day. I pray all these things in Jesus’ holy name, the name above all names, amen.

Coming Next Month
Effective communication with God involves skills and an understanding that few new believers possess. It sounds so easy to get close to Him, but this involves listening, accepting, and acting on the information we receive. It means learning to look at the world through spiritual eyes and doing what many believe is impossible.
June’s Good Morning, Holy Spirit, Daily Devotionals will spotlight how to move into a deeper communication with God in a way that is pleasing to Him and life-changing for you.
