Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted):
Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
—Hebrews 11:6
The second world of prayer involves seeking, which goes beyond simply having a need and wanting it met.
Seeking means having an earnest diligence. It means to seek with a sincere desire to obtain favor. The word diligence here is a very strong word. As a phrase, “them that diligently seek him,” reveals an extreme level of persistence.
There are times when asking isn’t enough. We must search for God who has promised to reward those who diligently seek Him.
Seeking deals with the process of finding the presence of God. The Word declares, “you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
What is God’s response to those who seek Him diligently? He promises that He will be “found.” That’s when you begin to experience the glory of His presence.
What is the key to effective communication? Seeking the face of God, not merely with the mind, but primarily with the spirit: “Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You” (Isaiah 26:9, KJV).
As we grow in faith, our prayer moves from asking to seeking. It becomes a deeper relationship with the Lord based on knowing the promises of God.
A Prayer for Today:
Father, thank You for Your mercy and lovingkindness. Thank You for the work You are doing in me as I seek to live a life of praise and thanksgiving. I choose to go deeper with You. I thank You for the depth You are developing in me as I move from the outer court to the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. Help me to learn the realms of asking and seeking, even as I prepare to move into the dimension of knocking. You alone are my Hope, my Refuse, my Safety, and my Lord. Help me to remember that You always know best. I submit my will to You today, and I pray this, with deep gratitude, in Your name, Amen!
