Today’s Key Scripture

“Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.”

— 1 Peter 3:18

During the late 1800s, the Englishman S. Trevor Francis penned these precious words that I have loved for many years:

O the deep, deep love of Jesus, vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!

Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me!

Underneath me, all around me, is the current of Thy love

Leading onward, leading homeward to Thy glorious rest above!

Today, more than ever, it’s important to remember that loving Jesus, regardless of the cost, fulfills us as believers—completely and fully!

The wonderful Bible teacher A. W. Tozer once said, “Jesus Christ knows the worst about you. Nonetheless, He is the one who loves you most.”

To be loved by God and to love Him in return are the reasons for life!

Serving Him helps give our life meaning, for we are given the wonderful task of carrying the fire of love in our hearts for Jesus, our most precious and adored Lord. This love compels His children to proclaim salvation to the ends of the earth, shouting it from the housetops, telling the world about the One who was, and is, and is to come!

May your love grow even deeper today, this week, this month, and this year as you spend time in His presence, and as you help touch lives around the world through everything you do.

A Prayer for Today

Father God, I love You. I want to share Your love with others. Help me be victorious in every area of my life. You know everything about me. You know my innermost desires. Yet, knowing all this You want to spend intimate time with me and answer my requests. Help me learn to trust in You more, even as I trust You to direct my paths. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
