Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted)

They brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.

—Acts 5:15

Can you imagine what it must have been like when Peter walked through town?

According to Acts 5, crowds lined the streets where Peter, sought to be near to the man of God who had actually spent time in the presence of Jesus, the risen Son of God. Surely the disciple was a man of extraordinary faith.

The word went out that people were being healed when they were touched by Peter’s shadow!

How did Peter receive such a powerful anointing? What is the key to receiving such an anointing upon your life? The answer is fellowship with the Lord.

We can learn a mighty truth about the anointing from Peter. He denied that he knew Jesus, yet the Lord Jesus reached out to him (John 20), forgave him, re-commissioned him, and helped him to stand strong in his faith for the rest of his life.

Christians feel that they do not deserve God’s blessing upon them due to their mistakes. Peter is a marvelous example of recovery from sin to a life of anointing, and a powerful example for us today!

God wants you to know that you are fully accepted to walk in the power of His anointing.

A Prayer for Today:

Precious Lord, I come to You with a humble, thankful heart. Like the apostle Peter, I have not been perfect. I have made costly mistakes. I have made bad decisions. Yet I know that as I come to You today asking for forgiveness, You are faithful and just to forgive all my sins. You are my Redeemer. You have promised to restore all that the locusts have stolen. I also ask for restoration of friendships, finances, and in every area of my life. I also to be used by You to touch and impact those around me. Anoint me for Your service so I can show people with my life that there is hope for the hopeless and blessings untold that are available to those who turn to You—no matter what happened in the past. I pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!
