Today’s Key Scripture
“They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves! Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education. They recognized them as companions of Jesus, but with the man right before them, seeing him standing there so upright—so healed!—what could they say against that?”
— Acts 4:13-14, msg
What happens to those who spend time with Jesus?
Look at Peter’s life. Despite his denial, he was eventually used to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact, the anointing on Peter’s life was so great that his shadow healed the sick: “They brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them” (Acts 5:15).
Pharisees, scribes, Sadducees, and elders of Israel looked at Jesus’ disciples and said that “they were uneducated and untrained men.” But others recognized the anointing of God on them and “realized that they had been with Jesus.”
The anointing from spending time in our Lord’s presence brings strength, protection, victory over the Enemy, authority, power, and much more. In fact, we are told, “A multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed” (Acts 5:16). Every one!
When you spend time with Jesus Christ, not only will your life be changed forever, but you will see His anointing as it impacts those around you.
A Prayer for Today
Father, use me today, I pray, even as I seek more of You. Guide my steps on Your path of righteousness, peace, and purpose. Strengthen my heart to fulfill Your calling upon my life. Use me to bring light to those who walk in darkness. Help me walk in Your sweetness and joy so I can share all You have done for me. I adore You. I desire Your blessings today so I can bless others. I pray this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, amen.
