Today’s Key Scripture

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:18

What better way to end a full week of “Seven Revelations to Effective Prayer” than through thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving seals and magnifies the process of prayer!

In Luke 17, Jesus ministered to 10 men who had the dreadful disease of leprosy. All of them were healed, yet only one of them “when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks” (verses 15-16). Then Jesus told the man, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole” (verse 19, kjv).

The others were cleansed, but the thankful man was made whole!

I wish we could all understand the role of thanksgiving in effective prayer and anointed living. Why would the Lord continue to pour out answers and abundance to children who seem uncaring, unthankful, and even resentful?

Paul the apostle told us, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6, kjv).

Let us never be guilty of being ungrateful: “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15).

Thanksgiving is an integral part of prayer, for it reveals your true heart! And it is a powerful key to God’s anointing.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, may I never be ungrateful for all You do for me. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for pursuing me, though I was unclean and unworthy. Thank You for rescuing me. I am continually in awe of You. I give my heart and life to you today to go wherever You lead me. May Your Holy Spirit transform me—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—to be more like You. I pray all these thanksgivings in Jesus’ name, amen.
