Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

Another man dies in the bitterness of his soul.

——Job 21:25

What are the results of prayerlessness?

The Bible is clear about the righteous and the prayerful. This passage in Job points to the righteous who will “die in his full strength, fully at ease, and secure” (Job 21:23).

Yet the wicked, the prayerless, dies bitterly and never eats with pleasure!

Prayerlessness is a deadly sin and is the cause of all pain, but prayer is the key that will release all of God’s blessings.

Every failure in your Christian walk can be traced to prayerlessness. Your daily walk always tells about your prayer life and where you are placing your priorities.

Bible teacher R. A. Torrey once said, “Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouse of God’s infinite grace and power. All that God is, and all that God has is at the disposal of prayer.”

A Prayer for Today:

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the privilege of spending time with You in prayer. I praise You, knowing that everything good and perfect comes from You. I’m thankful that You meet me wherever I am in life, and I ask You today to help me stay away from the distractions of life so I may focus on You. You alone are worthy of my praise and thanksgiving. Amen.
