Today’s Key Scripture

“The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

— Luke 19:10

The reason I entered ministry in 1974 was because the Holy Spirit placed within me a deep burden for the lost. At the age of 21, the Lord gave me a mighty call to reach those who didn’t know our Savior and Lord. On December 7, 1974, I first stood behind a pulpit to preach.

That urgency to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ has continued to burn inside me more and more with every passing year.

Today, too many people around the world have still never heard even the most simple message of the Gospel, that our Lord Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Without Him, there is no hope in this life or the next.

I pray that we all could grasp that salvation is a miracle, a phenomenon so great that it caused God to send His Son to earth, to become flesh—one of us, to live a holy life, then to die on the cross, rise from the dead, ascend on high, and now to be seated on God’s right hand as King of kings and Lord of lords.

We have much to do. So many need to hear the life-saving and miracle-working message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ—many for the first time.

Please spend extra time today interceding for precious souls to be saved for all eternity.

A Prayer for Today

Father God, today I pray for those in my family, my neighborhood, my region, and all around the world who don’t know You as Savior and Lord. I pray for those who are lost and without hope. I ask for You to help me reflect Your love and concern for them. I pray for divine appointments today that will open doors to Your Word. Allow me to be a witness for You to those who need You so desperately. Help me speak the words they need to hear. Draw them to You. Help me lead people to You. God, I pray for the world to know You and Your love for them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
