Today’s Key Scripture
“You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.”
— Jeremiah 29:13-14
The Shekinah Tour of 1974 was truly memorable in so many ways. We performed numerous places in England, including an open-air concert at Trafalgar Square in downtown London, and then we wound through Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Holland.
I’ll never forget attending the home church of Corrie ten Boom, author of The Hiding Place, and hearing her speak on “The Glove”—what it means to place one’s life in the Master’s hand. Out of necessity, it was a message I was putting into practice in my own life during the entire summer.
On September 5, we headed back to Toronto. From beginning to end, God had used that tour mightily to build my faith. I had stepped out with a ticket gift and only $25, but the Lord had multiplied my “mustard seed” faith again and again. Total strangers often walked up, held out a gift, and said, “The Lord told me to give this to you.” It was amazing!
When I got home, I had new clothes, new luggage, and a surprise for my Father. I thanked him for the original $25, then I handed it back to him! He just shook his head.
When you pray, believe. God is at work!
A Prayer for Today
My heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercies and provisions. Thank You for promising to supply all my needs. Thank You for being my Protector, my ever-present Help in times of trouble and indecision. Over and over, I’ve seen Your faithfulness, just as You promised in Your Word. Even when I’m tempted and tried, You are faithful, always providing a way so I can endure and succeed. Grant me protection from the Evil One. Give me the strength to overcome everything that stands against me today. Guide me through Your unfailing love. I pray all this in the name above all names, Jesus, amen.
