Today’s Key Scripture

“These signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons.”

— Mark 16:17

There is a deadly enemy out there who would love to destroy every prayer that you utter. In fact, he would like for you to believe he doesn’t exist.

What are we to do?

Take the authority of God’s Word and rebuke every evil force that would stand against you. God is not looking simply for religious activity in your life. He desires that His power might flow through you.

We are in combat with the forces of darkness, and our prayers need to reflect who we are:

God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance. Let them see the full extent of Your power that is at work in those of us who believe, and may it be done according to Your might and power. (Ephesians 1:17-19, voice)

What mighty power is available to us! We are “heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). And the strength that is ours is released by faith as we pray persistently.

A Prayer for Today

Precious Lord Jesus, I am hungry for more of You. You are my victory over evil, my hope for life, and my necessity every hour of every day. Your Word tells me to hold fast to the confession of my hope without wavering because You are faithful. Lord, I am holding fast, refusing to waver. I’m trusting in Your promises. I desire to see the miraculous, but I especially yearn to get closer and closer to You. I want to spend time in intimate communication with You. Fill me with Your fullness and help me to follow You today in everything I do. It’s in Your name that I pray, amen.
