Today’s Key Scripture
“Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
— Mark 11:24
Despite being imprisoned for her devotion to God, Madame Jeanne Guyon (1648–1717) taught, “Come, then, give your heart to God and learn the ways of prayer. For those who have the desire, it is easy to pray. The Holy Spirit has enabled common men to pray great prayers by His gifts and grace.”
The Christian life is an ever-expanding life, which moves from life into deeper life. The power of God causes the Christian life to be a journey of growth that continues to broaden outward and become a blessing to all it touches. It is like a light that begins from one source and flares in every direction.
As light expands, just as the universe is constantly in a state of expansion, we as Christians are continually increasing in life and growing. As the power of God’s multiplication touches life, it keeps expanding within the heart until it reaches abundant, unlimited life. From there, it continues to grow and expand until eventually it becomes life eternal.
The same principle applies to the anointing and to our prayer life. As we remain in close fellowship with the Lord, the anointing will flow in us, through us, and out of us—a supernatural partnership.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, Your Word says whoever asks shall receive, so I humbly request that Your Holy Spirit’s mighty presence will engulf me even now—today. Lord, I thirst for You. I need You. I desire to spend time with You. So I ask You to fill me today with more of You. I open my heart to You. Take control of my life. Let me dwell in sweet intimacy with You every day of my life. I ask this in Your most precious name, my Savior and my Lord, Jesus Christ, amen.
