Today’s Key Scripture

“God—You’re my God! I can’t get enough of You! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry and weary deserts. So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in Your strength and glory. In Your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains. I bless You every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to You.”

— Psalm 63:1-4, msg

Walking in our Lord’s lovely presence is a daily process. We must come to Christ Jesus each day to be filled fresh again. Life’s trials and situations will drain and weaken us, but daily fellowship with the Lord is the key to abundant living.

Jesus Himself promised, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

And as we move into God’s abundance, there is a river to go to where we will never thirst again. In His presence, we will find all we will ever need. In Christ Jesus, we are fully accepted, fully redeemed, and fully forgiven.

Once we experience His fullness and plenty, nothing else will satisfy, no matter how attractive or promise-laden. Nothing!

When you are thirsty, spend time in God’s presence. Get alone in His sanctuary, His place of refuge, His house of rest. Wherever you are in life, He alone can fill you and satisfy your soul.

A Prayer for Today

My Lord and Savior and Comforter, thank You for Your sanctuary of safety, replenishment, and fulfillment. Thank You for giving me Your place of worship where I can feast in your strength and glory. As I spend time in You, I ask that You remove anything that would keep me from You. Take away the complacency in my life, and help me to be filled with Your desire to see others come to You. Help me reflect Your glory in every facet of my life so I can bring light into the darkness around me. I pray this in Your name, Lord Jesus, the name above all names, amen.
