Today’s Key Scripture

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

— Romans 8:26-27

If you are lacking in your prayer life, the infilling of the Holy Spirit will quicken you to pray. Ask for His help and see how a fresh anointing of the Spirit can help you regain the effective life of prayer that belongs to you in Christ.

Prayer is rekindled as we yield ourselves again and again to God. He already knows what we need. He knows the desires of our heart. We are promised that the Holy Spirit even makes intercession for us.

His presence quickens us and enables us to sense our union with Him. We can pray from our innermost being, rather than just our mind. It moves us from mere human communication into His supernatural presence.

As you ask the Spirit of God for guidance today, He literally takes your knowledge of the Word and brings it to life so you can apply it to your daily walk in Christ Jesus: “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).

Can He bring your hopes and dreams to pass? Yes, better than you can imagine: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

It all begins as you spend time daily with Him.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, I praise You for the gift of hope that You gave to me, even when I was hopelessly lost. Then, as now, I come to You with both hands outstretched, asking for Your lifeline of hope. You’ve placed things in my heart that I can barely understand, much less hope for, yet I give these hopes and dreams to You, knowing that only You can bring them to pass. God, I place my trust in You, for You are my hope. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
