Today’s Key Scripture

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

— Philippians 4:6

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the busy blur of life that it becomes easy to forget that you and I are given the amazing privilege of fellowshipping with and making our requests known to the Almighty God.

The Bible declares that anything we ask will be accomplished when we pray “in Jesus’ name.” This powerful promise comes from the lips of the Master Himself: “Whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you” (John 16:23).

The King James Version of that verse says this: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.” “Verily, verily” means, “I guarantee it—I give you My word.”

As believers, we have been given unlimited use of His name. When we pray in Jesus’ name, we go in His authority and in His place, professing the power of His awesome, mighty name.

Today, you can pray in faith and confidence. And whatever you ask of the Father in Jesus’ mighty name, He will give it to you. Guaranteed!

A Prayer for Today

My Father, give me faith today to believe Your Word. Help me not to just give lip service to Your promises, but give me the insight and strength to understand that You want me to succeed and do all You want me to do. Defend me from evil, even as You help me to be a partaker of Your heavenly kingdom, through Jesus Christ my Lord. In His name, I pray, amen.
