Today’s Key Scripture
“With God, nothing will be impossible.”
— Luke 1:37
In yesterday’s devotional, I mentioned the first three impossibilities we face without a fresh, daily anointing of the Holy Spirit. Here are the final four from my list:
- It is impossible to stay free from sin without the daily presence of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:2). He sets us free from the law of sin and death.
- It is impossible to pray with power without the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us.
- It is impossible to have a faith-filled life without the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 5:7). The witness of the Holy Spirit helps us “walk by faith, not by sight.”
- It is impossible to live an unshakable, established Christian life without the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:16-17). We must be “strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” in order to be “rooted and grounded in love.”
You and I don’t have to live without the Holy Spirit or the impossibilities of being neglectful toward Him.
He goes where He is invited, and He is willing to come fresh every day, empowering you to live an overcoming Christian life.
A Prayer for Today
Good morning, Holy Spirit! Thank You for a new day. I am so grateful that You are faithful with a steadfast love. I know You hold my future, so whatever happens today, help me remember that nothing is impossible with You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Awaken me to the wonder of Your salvation. Quicken my spirit to be aware of all that You do, even when I don’t understand. Fill my mind with creative ideas. And I pray that You will continue to make the “impossible” possible so I can do all that You’ve called me to do. This day is Yours, Lord, and I pray it all in Jesus’ name, amen.
