Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation.

— Luke 2:29-30

In the Old Covenant, God announced He would send the Messiah, and a man named Simeon prayed it would come to pass: “And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ” (Luke 2:26, KJV). So when Jesus was brought to the temple, Simeon took Him into his arms, and thanked God for fulfilling the long-held promise.

So should we pray the prophetic scriptures from God’s Word:

  • Father, You declared, “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee” (Psalm 22:27, KJV).
  • Jesus, You promised, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14, KJV).

We know that Jesus promised to return, yet we are admonished to pray, “Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20).

Why is this important? He is coming for a people who are “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13, KJV)

Pray for a revival to sweep the world. Pray for your loved ones to know the Savior. Pray!

A Prayer for Today:

My heavenly Father, I pray Your promises today. I ask for Your fresh anointing today. I long to be refreshed by the oil of your Holy Spirit as it flows over my life. Father, I pray for revival to sweep over my community, the nation, and the world. I pray for my lost loved ones to accept You before it is too late. And as Your return nears, I pray for you to help me to be used to bring healing, deliverance, signs, wonders, and miracles to those around me. I look forward today to all that You have in store for me, and I pray all this in the Name above all names, Amen!
