Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend.

—Psalm 5:3, MSG

We must have a desire to pray, and desire is not given to us without the help of the Spirit. A heavenly yearning will produce heavenly results. This is important to remember as you move into an atmosphere of prayer and anticipation.

But will He answer?

The Lord always keeps His promise and you can depend on Him.  He has promised, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8).

Bible teacher E. M. Bounds once wrote, “It is only when the whole heart is gripped with the passion of prayer that the life-giving fire descends, for none but the earnest man gets access to the ear of God.”

How will you know when He is present? Your heart begins to break, the coldness departs, and suddenly your empty words become life-giving.

People often tend to rush into God’s presence, unleashing a list of requests, then saying “Amen.” Then off we go. Nothing has been accomplished. Nothing. Then we wonder, “Why doesn’t God respond?”

The Lord does not answer words. He does answer prayers that flow from a believer’s heart.

He longs to answer the desires of your heart!

A Prayer for Today:

Father God, I ask for Your divine presence in my life today. I ask for Your supernatural answers. I ask for Your guidance today. When life seeks to leave me drained spiritually, emotionally, and physically, even then You hear my prayers. You know my weaknesses and strengths. You know me better than I know myself. So, I pray today that You will give me the patience and the courage to endure the challenges that are necessary for me to grow as a believer. And I especially thank You today for the eternal reward in heaven that makes the trials worth everything. I pray this in Your Name, Amen!
