Today’s Key Scripture

“He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.”

— Acts 18:26

The late Smith Wigglesworth, noted Bible teacher and evangelist, proclaimed:

Every believer should reach a place in the Holy Ghost where he has no desire except the desire of God. The Holy Ghost has to possess us till we are filled and led—yes, divinely led—by Him…. Don’t you want to be led by Jesus? If He leads you, He will lead you into truth, into nothingness (but when you are in nothingness, you will be in power), and into weakness (but when you are in weakness, God will be with you in might and everything that would seem of weakness of the human side will be under the control of divine power).

As we grow closer to the Holy Spirit, we begin to know the ways of God more perfectly. We find that we begin to understand truths or events in God’s Word that were once baffling to us.

Through the years I have been so blessed to be surrounded in ministry by men and women with a deep dedication to the task God has called them to do. I am grateful for the sensitivity and understanding with which they minister alongside me as they serve Him.

They have developed such sensitivity and understanding as a result of their relationship with the Holy Spirit.

A Prayer for Today

Precious Father, change my understanding to reflect Your Word and Your will. I know You have a plan for me. Help me so my desires don’t blind me to Your will. Help me follow Your guidance. I’m so thankful that You know me better than I know myself. You are aware of all my failures, doubts, anxieties, and weaknesses, yet You care enough to want me to spend time with You every day. Thank You for loving me. Give me peace, no matter what comes my way. Thank You for Your loving compassion for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
