The letter to the church in Rome was written during the apostle Paul’s primary years of ministry. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he addressed the church in the city which was commonly acknowledged as the center of influence and power for the known world. What depth! What spiritual insight! What supernatural understanding of the way God has dealt with men and women through the centuries! And what a wonderful promise we have in verse 33 of Chapter 9, which declares, “and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” God has given us so much, both in this life and in the eternal life to come!
