Today’s Key Scripture
“As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.”
— John 17:18-20
Jesus was the Bible’s premier example of prayerfulness. He was devoted to effective prayer, even to the point of praying all night (Luke 6:12).
He expects no less from us!
During the early 1970s, shortly after I received a vision of people falling off into a blazing inferno, my prayers intensified for lost souls. If you have read my book Good Morning, Holy Spirit, you know the story of how I was invited to publicly proclaim God’s Word and that the Lord healed my stuttering tongue as I stood to preach for the first time.
The intensity of my prayer for souls has not changed, and the reality of that vision is still as vivid to me as the day it happened. As I continue to proclaim the message of God’s saving and healing power, more and more men and women have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
When we began the miracle crusades in 1990, my greatest cry was for souls to be saved. As the crowds grew and the Lord blessed the ministry, increasing numbers of men and women responded as I invited “whosoever will” to come and experience the greatest miracle of all—salvation.
Let me encourage you to be a prayer warrior, not just interceding for yourself and your loved ones, but for a lost and dying world.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I pray for Your mercy and grace, not just for my loved ones and me, but for those who are lost, hurting, hopeless, and needy all around the world. I ask for You to compel precious souls who are without You as Savior and Lord to hear Your voice as You seek and save those who need You most. Help me walk in Your path with certainty and purity so I can be a living witness for You. And may I rest upon Your promises, day by day, to be unafraid to walk boldly in Your light, even as I proclaim salvation through You. I pray this in the name of Jesus, amen.
