Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted:

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

— John 15:7

I am convinced that the reason many Christians do not pray effectively is because the Word is not within them.

The answers to your prayers are conditional. There’s an “if” involved. God’s Word must abide in you. When your soul is bathed in Scripture, prayer is the natural result. It will flow from your lips as a beautiful, never-ending stream.

There is a glorious source that many believers have not yet tapped into. and it is yours for the asking. Scripture declares that “power belongs to God” (Psalms 62:11), yet it can be yours through the Word.

Don’t enter into the presence of the Lord by saying “Give me.” Instead, approach the throne with, “Lord, Your Word says that You will give to me, so I am here to receive.”

Let the words of Jesus become the foundation of your prayer life: “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).

Is there a burden that needs to be removed from your life? Spend time in the Word as you ask, seek, and knock, then your faith will rise, your spirit will be lifted, even as your prayers become increasingly effective and your communication with God grows progressively more intimate!

A Prayer for Today:

God of all mercy, forgiveness, and lovingkindness, I need You in every part of my life. I choose today to come to You, to seek intimacy with You, and to confide in You as my Friend. I willingly share my heart, my desires, and even my pain with You. I seek You with everything that I am or ever hope to be. May I live my life so in tune with You that Your guidance comes through clearly to my heart. Help me to also walk in joy, reflecting Your love to others everywhere I go. Help me speak hope, health, and peace to whomever I meet. I pray all this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
