Today’s Key Scripture

“Another man dies in the bitterness of his soul.”

— Job 21:25

What are the consequences of prayerlessness?

Yes, the wicked and the prayerless die bitterly and never eat with pleasure.

The Bible is also clear about the righteous and the prayerful when it says that the righteous will “die in his full strength, fully at ease, and secure” (Job 21:23).

Prayerlessness is a deadly sin and is the cause of all pain, but prayer is the key that will release all of God’s blessings.

Every failure in our Christian walk can be traced to prayerlessness. Our daily walk always tells about our prayer life and where we are placing our priorities.

The late Bible teacher R. A. Torrey once said, “Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouse of God’s infinite grace and power. All that God is, and all that God has is at the disposal of prayer.”

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the privilege of spending time with You in prayer. I praise You, knowing that everything good and perfect comes from You. I’m thankful that You meet me wherever I am in life, and I ask You today to help me stay away from the distractions of life so I may focus on You. You alone are worthy of my praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
