Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted):
Let your garments always be white,
And let your head lack no oil.
Ecclesiastes 9:8
The tabernacle priests knew the importance of the cleansing process. So must we. Before we come into His presence, it is vital for your heart to be cleansed.
Moses understood this, for he spoke to the people: “’Don’t be afraid. God has come to test you and instill a deep and reverent awe within you so that you won’t sin.’ The people kept their distance while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was” (Exodus 30:20-21, MSG).
God wants you to spend time in His presence, and He desires to anoint you for service, but it is crucial to have a clean, pure heart, living a holy life before Him.
The anointing of God cannot pour mightily over you if you are living in the flesh. Does that mean you must be perfect? Of course not, yet you must serve only one master. You can not live for this world and for God, too.
He will fill you with power from Heaven, but the requirement for His presence and being used mightily is cleansing: ““Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil” (Ezekiel 16:9).
To serve with God’s precious anointing, you must be clean before Him!
A Prayer for Today:
Father God, teach me to trust in You, and help me grow in righteousness. Before all else, cleanse me today so I may reflect You in my words and deeds. Then give us the courage to step out in faith this day, no matter what happens. Fill my heart with your Holy Spirit, and let me live and speak in the authority with which You anoint me. I seek to be a worthy servant for You, yet I know that worthiness for Your service only comes from You. I pray all this in Your name, Amen!
