Today’s Key Scripture

“Look at us.”

— Acts 3:4

Something changes when people receive the strong anointing of the Holy Spirit on their lives. They often look younger. Their eyes sparkle. They have boldness.

After Peter and John were filled with the Holy Spirit, they went to the temple gate and a beggar asked them for money. The first words Peter spoke to him were, “Look at us.”

They knew that a look of power and boldness had come upon them because of God’s presence. They knew that the life of the Holy Spirit on the inside of them had changed the way they looked on the outside, and their whole countenance reflected the inner work of God’s presence.

Instead of giving him money, Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).

The crippled beggar jumped to his feet and began running, leaping, and praising God. When the people saw what had occurred “they were filled with wonder and amazement at that what had happened to him” (Acts 3:10).

The presence of the Lord makes a difference in your life. The Holy Spirit even changes the way you look!

A Prayer for Today

My heavenly Father, let my morning prayer rise to You and continue throughout the day. Thank You for forgiveness, even when I fail You. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, even when I am unworthy. Thank You for Your compassion, even in my weakest moments. Help me to better understand prayer and dwelling in Your presence. And I ask all this in Your precious name, Lord Jesus, amen.
