Today’s Key Scripture
“He will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”
— 2 Timothy 2:21
The Old Testament refers to literal vessels that were set apart for special use in the house of the Lord, but in the New Testament, believers themselves are described as chosen vessels.
Today, more than ever before, God desires a yielded vessel, someone who is willing to surrender to follow His call during the challenging days ahead.
Throughout my life, I remember several low points when with one touch, the Holy Spirit changed my life completely. I went from emptiness to the most glorious experience, from brokenness to victory. And you can too. All you must do is welcome the Holy Spirit in your life and ask Him to draw you closer to the Lord Jesus day by day.
Noted Bible scholar Charles Spurgeon once said:
Look all through Scripture, and you will find continually that the will of man is described as being contrary to the things of God. What did Christ say to those who imagined that men would come to God without divine influence? He said, first, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” (John 6:44).
The Lord desires to do something mighty in your life. All you must do is call upon His name. Even God’s Son said, “Not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42).
As you yield to Him, He will hear you.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, I pray that You would use me as Your vessel. I speak usefulness, fulfillment, and victory over every area of my life. I choose You today—Your plan, Your holiness, and Your guidance. Reveal the areas in my life that are not surrendered to You, and help me triumph, even as I seek balance in You. I humbly pray all these things in Jesus’ precious name, amen.
