Today’s Key Scripture
“God’s there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it. He does what’s best for those who fear him—hears them call out, and saves them.”
— Psalm 145:18-19, msg
The Lord is close to the one who calls on Him in truth, whose heart is full of honesty, and whose spirit is free from guile. When we pray, God looks on the condition of our heart.
Prayer must come from a prepared heart, for this is what touches heaven.
The secret to effective, anointed, powerful prayer is not dependent upon any of the external elements, but upon a relationship and heart:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
When you are in the right condition (with a prepared, pure heart), the right location (alone with God), and the right position (under the blood), then God stands ready to honor your prayers with His presence and power.
That is my prayer for you today and always.
A Prayer for Today
God in heaven, thank You for preparing my heart to spend time with You today. Thank You for giving me a future and a hope. Thank You for listening to the cries of my heart. Thank You for allowing me to seek and find You, even as I search for You with a prepared, clean heart. Be with me today to serve You in thought, word, and deed. I seek to be Your willing servant, used for Your glory today. And I pray all this in Jesus’ name, the name that is above all names, amen.
