This Unique Ministry of Miracles Pt2

This Unique Ministry of Miracles, Part 2

  • Divine healing belongs to God’s children.

  • You are a crucial part of this unique healing ministry.

  • Scriptures tell us clearly that it is God’s will to heal His children today.

As I mentioned in my last email to you, I receive reports every day from around the world, many of these emails, letters, and social media responses share wonderful miracle testimonies that touch my heart deeply.

Literally, from the beginning nearly 46 years ago, this has been a ministry of miracles.

We certainly believe in all the facets of our calling, but it is the miracles that have opened doors and reached millions with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Miracles have a distinct purpose, and this can mean everything in terms of your own covenant protection, favor, and blessings in today’s world.

What makes this ministry so unique?

I have no doubt that it is the miracles!

The remarkable testimonies of spiritual, emotional, and physical miracles have opened doors that would have otherwise remained closed to the Gospel.

And now, more than ever, I believe the Scriptures tell us clearly that it is God’s will to heal His children today, and that it is His desire for us to enjoy the blessings of divine health and His healing touch. Both the Old and New Testaments have much to say about miracles of healing.

And I’ve seen it again and again with my own eyes, including what was one of the greatest miracles in the history of this ministry!

The Woman in the Red Dress

When they wheeled her stretcher up on the platform of Venezuela’s Plaza de toros Monumental de Valencia, I could see the pain and sickness that had riddled her body.

Even her brother uttered, “It’s a waste of time! Nothing will happen!”

She had been paralyzed from the waist down for more than three years after suffering an injury during the birth of her daughter. Her family carried her on a stretcher to the crusade.

As I taught on biblical faith, a very special anointing began sweeping through our midst, and one of the first to receive her miracle was the paralyzed woman. Onlookers, including the young woman’s family, saw the bottom half of her body, once unfeeling and lifeless, literally come alive!

On the platform, she struggled to walk, laboring even harder to relate what had happened. Then she began walking around, first stiffly, then more relaxed.

Someone brought her three-year-old toddler to her, and one of the most emotional moments came when she lifted her daughter, holding her while standing for the first time in the little girl’s life!

Also, because she had been bedfast, she had never been able to wear a dress since the tragedy at childbirth. So it was a special moment—during the second service of that crusade—when I inquired about the young lady who had been healed from paralysis the night before. A beautiful young lady wearing a vivid red dress stepped forward and moved toward the platform, her face beaming and her daughter held tightly in her arms.

As she came near the front of the stage, the crowd erupted with cheers of excitement and resounding applause. She joined them in praising the Lord for what He had done for her and for the fact that many of her family members had received Jesus Christ as a result of what happened the night before!

Many who say miracles are not for today, or that miracles ceased thousands of years ago, simply do not understand. How I wish that those who speak words of doubt could stand beside me as I have seen healings like the one in Venezuela, blind eyes opened in Indonesia, the deaf hearing in Nigeria, and the lame walking again in Texas. The stories would fill the pages of a thousand books.

And today, I have even greater faith for whatever need you may have right now—spiritual, emotional, physical, or financial—as you make the connection between your need and your seed. More about that in a moment….

Do healing miracles still happen today?

Even though I’ve spent my adult life seeing healing miracles, time after time, I still get asked this question, especially when I talk with the media: “Does God still do healing miracles today?”

My answer, in a word, is “Yes!”

Today, more than ever, I am amazed each time I see the power of God at work and the healing anointing flow over people, changing their lives forever.

The people we’ve seen healed in our services, broadcasts, crusades, and social media programs have come from all walks of life, diverse cultures, different ages, and with widely varying needs.

The Bible is filled with promises and accounts regarding health and healing for His children. God is and has always been the Healer, and it is His will for us to live in divine health.

And what you discover about divine healing throughout the Bible can change your life forever!

We know that God says, “I am the Lord that heals you” (Exodus 15:26 NKJV).

Throughout His Word, God’s ever-present desire is reflected in His covenant with the children of Israel (Exodus 15:26).

David acknowledges that covenant in the words the Holy Spirit inspired him to write here:

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases. (Psalm 103:1-3)

Jesus ministered to the sick, doing miracles and healing all who came to Him. His disciple and later apostle Matthew testified:

“Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people” (Matthew 4:23).

God’s will for you to walk in divine health and a right relationship with Him is emphasized throughout His Word.

But there is more to discover about divine healing—so much more.

7 Reasons Why Jesus Pours Out Healing Miracles

In the early days of this ministry, I began to see people healed who had very little faith. I asked one man who came to the platform to testify about his miracle, “What church do you attend?”

“I don’t go to church,” he replied.

“Are you a Christian?” I questioned.

“No, sir,” he said bluntly. “I don’t know anything about that.”

Here was a person who had no knowledge of the Word, had never given his heart to Christ, but was now healed. I said to myself, “Lord, this doesn’t make sense!”

Soon after, I had a conversation with Dr. Lester Sumrall, a great man of faith who has since gone on to glory. I asked, “Can you explain to me why God is healing so many unbelievers in our meetings?”

He responded with this question: “Who did Jesus heal 2,000 years ago?”

I went back to my Bible and reviewed the miracles of Christ. Time after time He healed those with little or no understanding of the things of God. I began to realize that His mercy brings both salvation and the miraculous.

Anytime I go back to my study notes from that time in my life after my conversation with Dr. Sumrall, it is always such a delight to go through what the Lord showed me.

And through the years, I’ve learned firsthand why God heals. Let me share seven of His many reasons for healing miracles.

  1. Jesus is full of compassion.

A leper came to Jesus, “imploring him, and kneeling said to him, ‘If you will, you can make me clean’” (Mark 1:40 ESV). What was the Lord’s response? “Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, ‘I will; be clean.’ And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean” (Mark 1:41-42). It was compassion that led to the miracle.

Jesus knows everything about you. You are His treasure. He even knows the number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:29-31). He desires to show mercy and healing toward you. You are so precious that He died on the cross for your sin and your infirmities.

  1. Divine healing belongs to God’s children.

Once, when Jesus was preaching near the city of Tyre, a Syrophenician fell at His feet, asking Him to cast an unclean spirit out of her daughter.

Jesus said to her, “‘You may go your way; the demon has left your daughter.’ And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone” (Mark 7:28). The Lord saw the woman’s faith, and the daughter was delivered.

If you are a child of the King, healing should come to you first, even before unbelievers receive their miracle. Yet I watch as those who do not know the Lord reach out in great faith, hungry for the crumbs. And time after time He pours out His healing virtue upon these people. Thank God, healing is often the entry point that helps people receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

  1. Healing miracles bring glory to the Father.

On the side of a mountain near the Sea of Galilee, “great multitudes came unto Him…and he healed them…(and) the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel” (Matthew 15:30-31).

On another occasion, there was a similar response when Jesus healed a paralytic man” “when the multitude saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God” (Matthew 9:8).

All glory and praise belongs to the Father. Healing is a wonderful, awe-inspiring faith-builder that should lead to glorifying God.

  1. Miracles fulfill God’s promises.

At Capernaum, “They brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:16-17).

When the Master heals, it is a fulfillment of the prophecy spoken through Isaiah. On the cross, Christ took our sickness and infirmities.

  1. Healings confirm God’s own Word.

Healing was promised by the Father, then declared by Jesus Christ. He said:

“If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him” (John 10:37-38).

Christ knew exactly why He was sent to earth. He came to perform the works of His Father. Miracles confirm the spoken word of Jesus. He heals to fulfill His personal word to you.

  1. Miraculous healings display the power in His blood.

The blood of Jesus was shed to forgive sin and provide healing. We are told, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13). In Him, “we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7).

Jesus Himself said, “Nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). And because of the power in His blood, we can triumph in every area of life:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Revelation 12:11).

Believers today who depend upon the blood of Jesus Christ can see miracle healings as great evidence of His power in the world today!

  1. Miracles demonstrate that the devil was defeated at the cross.

The Word tells us, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

At the house of Cornelius, Peter said, “You know…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Acts 10:37-38).

Your Divine Healing

How about you?

Can you trust God for healing miracles, no matter what you face today?

According to His Word, He wants you to live in divine health. He wants you to understand more and more about divine healing. And though it is exciting to hear the stories of people who have been healed by God’s power, what about your need?

Woman healed raised arms

Claim God’s miracle today. His Word was written for you: “By His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

The Lord is waiting to hear your praise, your worship, and your celebration. He is waiting to hear you say, “Thank you, Lord, for my healing miracle!”

What physical needs face you or a member of your family? Is it cancer, multiple sclerosis, a blood disorder? What is too big for our God? The answer is a resounding NOTHING! He can heal every disease and make you whole in every way.

I want you to experience your supernatural miracle just like the precious woman did in Venezuela.

God is no respecter of persons. Just as He touched the woman in the red dress, He wants to touch you with healing miracles in every area of your life!

And He wants to do the miraculous for lost, hurting, and needy people around the globe, especially during this time of pandemics, unrest, and chaos.

My Request to You

Not only does God want to heal you and your loved ones, but He wants to let you know that you are a very special part of this unique ministry of miracles!

Even as you face your own needs, I encourage you to give toward this ministry and to the spread of the Gospel. As we step out in faith during this season, it is imperative that we not neglect our giving. Giving to God keeps us focused on His work, and it clarifies our priorities and desires.

You see, as I’ve said many times, giving is not about money. Giving is about righteousness. The psalmist speaks of the righteous giver:

“His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed” (Psalm 112:2-3).

  • Giving is a reflection of what’s in your heart.
  • Giving declares a person’s righteous standing before God, for righteousness and giving go hand in hand.
  • Giving is voting for the Kingdom, for our precious Jesus, and for His work. God uses your giving as a weapon in His hands.
  • Giving places you in agreement with God’s Word! He wants you to be blessed in every area of life—spiritually, physically, financially, and relationally.
  • Giving, as you make the connection between your need and your seed, puts you in line for God’s covenant blessings of protection, favor, and abundance!

As a covenant believer, when you give you can lay claim to God’s promises:

I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence, even in your time of pressure and trouble. (Psalm 91:14-15 TPT)

This is my prayer for you!

Coming into agreement with God through obedience to His cause is a powerful step of faith.

The key is your seed

Sowing and reaping is a fixed law that God has put into effect on this planet, and it will work for anyone! Ask any farmer or gardener anywhere in the world, and he will tell you, “Every time I sow seed in the ground, I expect a specific harvest where I plant the seed.”

A sower plants seed as a lifestyle, continually looking for ways to sow. Sowing is his #1 priority, and sowing consumes so much of his time and attention that he doesn’t even take time to look for the harvest. The harvest will come because the seed has been sown!

I encourage you to plant your most generous step-of-faith seed now—whatever God directs!

Whatever He has placed in your hand, as you release it, He will give you more to sow and multiply it.

Together we can accomplish God’s agenda for this generation. Together we can do our part, give our best, and surrender our all to our wonderful Jesus, to whom belongs our lives, our gifts, our talents, our all.

Let’s do it together while there is still time!

Dear partner, I cannot say it enough: I love you so deeply. You are so precious to me, and I carry a burden for your needs just as you do for the needs of this ministry. I pray for you day after day, believing that God will meet your every need, and I look forward to hearing the miracle stories of how your life has been touched and healed and how souls have been saved. Let me hear from you very soon.

You are a crucial part of this unique healing ministry, and God has called us to take the life-saving and miracle-working message of the Gospel to the nations.

I am asking you from the deepest part of my heart that you give today for this mighty work so we can continue to use every means possible to proclaim the Good News, as well as make advance preparations for the crusades to be scheduled as the COVID-19 pandemic lifts. Help me take the message of Jesus Christ through the awesome doors that have been opened to us.
