Sovereign Lord, please intervene in the nursing home situation where I work. Nursing homes are generally terrible situations for the elderly and those who work there, but lately things have become unbearable for those who live and work in the nursing home where I work and our sister locations. We are understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. The staff that we have isn't in tune with the needs of the elderly, but it's the only job they can get. Management isn't in tune with the real situation either, and won't take us seriously when we explain the actual issues and how they need to be fixed. They just smooth things over every month with an in-service going over the same issues that aren't the actual problem. But then they turn around and congratulate everyone on 'doing such a great job' and 'we're getting really good scores' and stuff. On top of it all, they went ahead and opened a few other sister locations, even though they aren't able to staff or maintain their current locations. And their locations are regularly reviewed by the health inspector, etc, and are apparently getting good scores even though they aren't maintaining sanitary standards in their kitchens. If the government can't hold them accountable, who can?
