Today’s Key Scripture (all references NKJV unless otherwise noted)

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.                                                      —Psalm 34:1

When the Holy Spirit touches your heart to pray, He will lead you into the seven revelations of prayer—confession, supplication, adoration, communion, intercession, praise, and thanksgiving.

After intercession, praise will erupt out of your soul, for the Holy Spirit, the great Intercessor who knows the will of God, who has wrought great victories in the heavenlies as you were willing to surrender to His presence, will cause praise to flow from deep inside.

The English word praise occurs 248 times in the King James Bible translation. It is a conscious, willful act. It is also the result of intercession, and it brings about the will of God into this world and into the lives of many. It is in praise that the enemies of God will be bound and victories won!.

The psalmist wrote:

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment—This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!

—Psalm 149:6-9

Praise elevates you into God’s presence and deeper worship. It is an expression of faith and trust. It is a declaration of victory, especially when praise becomes a way of life!

A Prayer for Today:

Lord, I’m so grateful to You today for Your tender mercies which endure forever. I praise You for fighting my battles. I lift You up for blessing me so I can bless others. I magnify You for protecting me from the storms of life and staying with me in the midst of trials. I acknowledge Your greatness, for only You are worthy of my praise. I will serve You today and reflect Your goodness to others, even as I lift up high praise to You. And I pray all these things in Your Name, Amen!
