Today’s Key Scripture

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

— Isaiah 43:18-19

Are you ready to accept what God has in store for you as you spend time in His presence? Or are you complacent and satisfied with His first touch, something that may have happened years ago?

David received his first anointing and seemed to be headed for a lifetime of becoming Saul’s slave and playing the harp to keep the demons away. Then he received his second anointing and became king of Judah. Finally, he was given the third anointing and ascended to the throne of Israel. That is when dominion and power were given to the former shepherd boy. And it was through prayer that God directed him from anointing to anointing.

You will never realize the authority God wants you to have unless you get beyond the first anointing. As He continues to anoint, you begin to know His mighty power.

Scripture is much more than an account of what happened centuries ago. It is recorded to establish His Word and build your faith now. God is the God of the now!

If you want your prayers to come alive, listen to what He is saying today. That is the secret of a fresh and exciting walk with Christ.

A Prayer for Today

God, I desire to move from anointing to anointing. Thank You for helping me move in time with Your pace. Guide me on Your path, even when I can’t see all that You are doing. Thank You for Your promises of forgiveness and restoration. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins and shortcomings. Grant that I may increasingly live pleasing in your sight as I give all glory to You for what You are accomplishing in my life. I believe that You are performing a deep work in me. I humbly bow before You, asking for Your tender mercies and love. I pray all this in Jesus’ name, amen.
