As a long-time student of biblical prophecy, I can tell you that the prophecies being fulfilled all around us are staggering. The terror and uncertainty people are feeling are real.
So many times over the past few months, I have been reminded of this passage:
When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:13-14, NKJV)
Today’s news headlines, taken at face value, should shock each of us to the core!
Entire countries remain in lockdown. Political hotspots around the globe, accentuated and overshadowed by the ravages of COVID-19, remain powder kegs!
We are living in a time when great changes are quickly taking place all around us. It is a hot prophetic season!
It is as if the words that our Lord Jesus spoke were given to us for this hour:
And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. (Luke 21:25-28, ESV)
And as the prophetic clock ticks toward midnight, I’m hearing God telling us that behind the headlines and noise are massive doors opening up to the Gospel that have never been open before!
People around the globe have faced something the past weeks they’ve never faced before. The same can certainly be said for followers of Christ.
So what are we to do? What must we do?
For starters, we rely on this covenant promise of protection:
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:9-11, NKJV)
Beyond that, we are told to get busy!
Now is not the time for shrinking back or hesitating.
Even as we anticipate upcoming events and rely on the Lord to keep us safe, we are also told, “Occupy till I come” (Luke 19:13, KJV).
We must be about our Father’s business, especially now! And I believe He has a special connection for you to be a powerful part of “occupying” as we seek to impact this generation for Christ!
