Applying the Blood of Jesus to Your Life, Part 1
Apply the blood! Pray! Confess the Word!
Only when we accept the blood sacrifice will we be accepted.
Miracles are an intrinsic part of your covenant relationship with Almighty God.
The shed blood of Jesus Christ is a living stream of redemption and protection that sets our faith apart from all others! Hallelujah!
And during these unprecedented times of pandemics, geopolitical upheaval, panic buying, uncertainty, and fear, it’s more important than ever to understand and apply this living stream to every area of life in order to be protected for what we’re facing and what is to come!
Truly, in today’s world, learning how to plead Christ’s blood over these five areas can mean the difference between life and death. Plus, I want to share a special word about the divine connection of protection and blessings you can make, beginning today.
How often have we sung this anointed song without understanding the real meaning?
The blood that Jesus shed for me,
Way back on Calvary;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose its power.
It reaches to the highest mountain,
It flows to the lowest valley;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose its power.
From the highest mountain to the lowest valley! Oh, that each believer could understand the eternal significance of the trail of blood that runs through the Old and New Testaments and to you today!
The Shed Blood Throughout History
Even back in Genesis, blood was shed to cover Adam and Eve after they sinned. And every man of God —Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the rest—who built an altar and applied the blood understood the significance and power of the blood covenant.
For the children of Israel, the application of blood was a sign that meant life or death on that fateful Passover night in Egypt:
“Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you” (Exodus 12:13, NKJV).
And on the Day of Atonement, the blood was sprayed seven times in the Holy of Holies (Leviticus 16:15), foreshadowing the way Christ’s blood was sprayed seven times:
- His body, in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Luke 22:44)
- His beard and face. (Isaiah 50:6)
- His head, from the crown of thorns. (Matthew 27:29)
- His beaten back. (Matthew 27:26)
- His hands, nailed to the cross. (Psalm 22:16)
- His feet, as the nails were driven in. (Psalm 22:16)
- His pierced side. (John 19:34)
The Bible points again and again to the costly sacrifice of the blood of the Lamb:
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (Hebrews 9:11-12, NKJV)
Jesus Christ shed His blood to cover the sins of the whole world, but only those who accept the blood will be forgiven. Only when we accept the blood sacrifice will we be accepted. And only by the proper application of the blood of Jesus can we be covered with His protection and all the other blessings available to us.
No matter how wonderful and powerful the New Covenant may be, it is only through the application, in faith, of the promises that you see results. This is true in every area of life, including finances. This is crucial, especially during times of crisis and uncertainty!
Applying the Blood—Then and Now
Thankfully, more and more believers throughout the world are discovering the power of applying the blood of Jesus. And it is more crucial now than ever for us to understand how to apply it.
I’ve already mentioned that during the Passover the children of Israel were commanded to take a branch of hyssop and, by faith, apply the blood on the lintel and two side posts of their houses.
Job did exactly what God instructed him to do under the Old Covenant, and God placed a hedge around Job (Job 1:9-10), showing that the blood covers these five areas:
- You
- Your house and family
- Your possessions and property
- Your endeavors
- Your influence
Job regularly made a sacrifice and applied the blood (Job 1:5), and the results echo throughout history.
So must we do under the New Covenant, but the sacrifice has been made once and for all through Jesus Christ and His shed blood.
However, there is a major, life-changing difference. In the Old Covenant, the blood was applied with the hyssop plant. In the New Covenant, we apply the blood by speaking it and through prayer.
The apostle Paul said, “We also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13). Just as the Bible says we have “the power of life and death in our tongue” (Proverbs 18:21), our words—especially as we pray and apply His Word to our lives—are the applying force.
The faith-filled believer’s voice is a powerful weapon of war as we appropriate all the benefits of the cross of Jesus Christ, including redemption, cleansing, reconciliation, sanctification, forgiveness, protection, access, dwelling in God’s presence, and ultimately victory!
When you apply the blood, the anointing follows you, your house and family, your possessions and property, your endeavors, and your influence!
It is only under the blood of Christ Jesus, through faith, that believers can be victorious because we are free and safe from the enemy.
Apply and activate the blood through your voice as you pray, make faith-filled confessions, and speak God’s Word, His Scriptures, over your life.
More than ever, we must understand that believers are given God’s promise of protection and favor through applying Christ’s blood to every area of life!
God desires the best for you. No matter what is happening in your life today, He wants to build a powerful legacy.
Apply the blood! Pray! Confess the Word!
Because you are a covenant believer, God has promised to care of you, even when you face challenges, as you trust in Him.
A Crucial Word for You
One of the ways God desires to bless you is through His supernatural economy during this chaotic season.
There is a powerful connection between the blood sacrifice on Calvary’s cross and the covenant blessings provided to you when you receive Christ into your life.
Miracles are an intrinsic part of your covenant relationship with Almighty God. The same goes for all the other covenant blessings He provides, including abundance in your finances!
The Bible clearly says that if we sow, we will reap (Galatians 6:7). This is a law of God which cannot be broken!
However, to step into His overflow, it’s urgently important to understand that the promises mean little unless we are willing to take the crucial step to apply God’s covenant blessings to our lives.
This is not me saying it. It’s from God’s Word. And I truly believe that there is coming a release of the anointing for prosperity and overflow in the coming months that will be unlike anything we have seen before.
Do your part with what God has already placed in your hands, for we are promised,
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10).
God wants you to be blessed so you can be a blessing!
He desires to bless you and your loved ones beyond your wildest imagination. He wants to protect you. He wants to grant your requests. He declares again and again in His Word that He wants to prosper you, to overtake you with blessings.
Our Lord also promises,
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38, ESV).
God has already done His part. Now it is up to you to discover His promises anew and act upon them, applying them to your life!
Today, plead the blood of Jesus over every area of your life, including your finances!
Then plant your seed toward the spread of the Gospel, standing on God’s promises as you make the divine connection between your need and your seed as you faithfully apply His covenant provision to your life. Step into a new dimension of favor and increase.
Release your seed today into the fertile soil of this ministry, and then get ready to be blessed so you can be a blessing again and again during the coming weeks and months!
For the glorious and eternal cause of our precious Lord, Jesus Christ,
God is showing me, again and again, that during these days of uncertainty, He wants His people to be blessed beyond measure in order to take the Gospel to the nations by all means possible!
Seize the opportunity now to be part of this special anointing for abundance and overflow. Apply the covenant promises to your life. Make the divine connection between your need and your seed! Sow your seed-gift, releasing it as an act of faith, knowing that the size of your gift will determine the size of your harvest. Do it today!
