A Fresh Anointing on Your Eyes

“The key to walking in victory in these days and in the future is our covenant relationship with God.”

When we face the difficult and challenging times that inevitably come into our lives, our Lord Jesus tells us, “Look up!”

Yet how can you lift up your head when things are difficult or uncertain? How can you have freshly anointed eyes in today’s world?

Somehow we must look with eyes that see past all the distractions and disturbances. We are told to see with freshly anointed, covenant Kingdom eyes. We are to respond without fear. And here are four ways to do that!

See Your Place in God’s Kingdom

You can’t face the challenges of this life as a strong believer until you see beyond the natural, recognizing your place in God’s kingdom.

And to understand your place, you must realize that you are a “stranger” in this world (1 Peter 1:1). As a believer, you are no longer a citizen of this planet. You may still live here physically, but eternally your citizenship is in heaven. You cannot be a powerful, effective, mature believer in Christ, even in this life, until you begin living for the next.

Abraham understood what it meant to be a stranger in this world. We are told:

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:8-10)

Like Abraham, even while we live in this world, we are looking forward to the heavenly place “whose builder and maker is God.” We are not citizens of this earth. We are citizens of heaven, and we know our place in the Kingdom. This is one of the first ways to have freshly anointed eyes that see beyond the natural and into the supernatural.

Then you can truly “look up and lift up your heads” instead of being overwhelmed by gazing at your circumstances or the troubles that come through living in this present world.

Claim Your Place in God’s Kingdom as a Covenant Believer

God has a covenant with you that will never be broken: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips” (Psalm 89:34).

Those things going on around you may affect the world, but they will not affect you because you are a “new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). You have the blessings of the New Covenant through salvation because of Christ’s shed blood.

As a believer, there is no reason for you to live in fear. Even as the world reacts in fear to troubling events happening in the United States or around the globe—or the people around you fear the uncertainty about their future—you can take comfort in knowing that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Because you are a covenant person, God will take care of you, even in times of distress, famine, and difficulty:

In famine He shall redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes. You shall laugh at destruction and famine, and you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth. (Job 5:20-22)

As a believer under the New Covenant, you are in this world but don’t belong to it, nor are you run by it. The world’s systems will continue to shake, but your position as a believer is one of strength and power.

Live Daily in God’s Covenant Blessings and Provision

The key to walking in victory in these days and in the future is our covenant relationship with God. Though the world struggles, God’s people have supernatural provision. We are promised, “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).

God says to look up even in the midst of dire circumstances. Yes, troubles will come to the world, but look up. Why? Because we have a covenant God, a covenant-making God, a covenant-keeping God, and we are people of the covenant.

I’m not just giving my opinion on this. I’m reading directly from God’s Word. You are blessed because you are a covenant believer. God is your Source. He says:

The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you. (Deuteronomy 28:9-10)

Man holding Bible

When Jesus truly becomes your Source, God will give you more than enough so you can give back into the Kingdom.

God wants to bless you to be blessing! He wants to bless you in this world, even though you are a citizen of heaven:

Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Psalm 112:1-3)

I don’t like human gimmicks. Instead, I love our Father’s promises—“all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

You cannot deny God’s promises. They cannot change. When you give unselfishly to the Lord’s work because you are a covenant believer, He will bless you far beyond what your natural eyes can see.

Every Seed You Plant into the Kingdom of God is Forever

One day I was walking up the driveway of a relative. I noticed grass growing through cracks in their cement. I thought, “Look at that grass. The seed that got into those cracks is stronger than the cement. The grass broke right through.”

Instantly, the Lord spoke to me: No satanic cement will ever stop the harvest!

When God places seed in your hands, He also places power and might in those hands to change things both in this life and the next.

What should you do with the seed God places in your hands?

Obey. Just obey! Even as He blesses your obedience toward the spread of the Gospel, He has also promised to strengthen and bless you: “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity” (Job 36:11).

God also promises, “Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant” (Psalm 35:27). He delights when you are blessed, and giving as a covenant believer is what triggers the ongoing blessings of God.

When you obey, He blesses beyond measure, and the size of the seed determines the size of the harvest:

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:38)

So, honor the Lord with your firstfruits: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33) …

And honor Him with your best:

“Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty” (Proverbs 3:9).

Don’t be dismayed by the events occurring around you or across the world. Instead, “look up and lift up your eyes” as a covenant believer. See the world through freshly anointed eyes. Follow His plan to establish His covenant in you, then watch what He begins to do through you!

Many doors are opening in 2020, and I have received numerous invitations to speak in places where people are desperate to hear the Gospel. However, without your help at this important time of the year, I will have to say “no” to many of these open doors. That would break my heart, and I know it would be heartbreaking for you too. Please help me say “yes.”

Look beyond the natural and into the supernatural, beyond this world and into the next, beyond the visible and into the invisible things of God’s kingdom.
