Today’s Key Scripture

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.” [This is a repeat of Dec 4. Change?]

— 2 Corinthians 13:14

Since Good Morning, Holy Spirit was first published in 1990, in which I shared how I was first introduced by Kathryn Kuhlman to the previously unthinkable concept that the Holy Spirit could be real in my life, I’ve been asked many times whether it was biblical to talk with Him.

“After all,” some have said, “didn’t Jesus Himself say in the Lord’s Prayer to talk to the Father?”

Others have pointed to John 14:14: “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

Or they’ve said, “Weren’t we told in John 15:26 that the Holy Spirit does not bear witness of Himself, but of the Son?”

These questions trouble many believers, sometimes keeping them from praying at all for fear of praying in the wrong way or saying the wrong name.

The answer is that God is a Trinity of persons. Is the Father God? Is Jesus Christ God? Is the Holy Spirit God? The Three are One—the Godhead. And we are called to fellowship with each and all!

A Prayer for Today

My precious Lord, guide me into all truth as I seek to understand You better. I know it will take a lifetime to fathom what seems unfathomable. That’s why I pursue You. I want to know You better—Father God, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. I desire deep communion with You, and so I seek You early in the morning and throughout the day and night. Thank You for Your presence and sweet anointing. In Jesus’ lovely name I pray, amen.
