7 Tremendous Revelations of Faith

“It is crucial that you develop your faith. God gives you a measure of faith, but you must increase it. Faith is essential, for Scripture says that you cannot please Almighty God without it. Therefore, you must develop it.”

Everything you have from God you received by faith. In fact, faith is the key to every victory. Faith is also the key to holding onto whatever God has given to you.

Every day, regardless of the challenges you face, you make the choice to use your faith or not. You choose to believe in God’s invisible power to bring miracles to pass, or you choose to believe in what the natural world is saying about your circumstances.

The faith Almighty God desires for you to have is the kind of faith that sees the invisible, believes the impossible, and does the incredible!

In 1968, when the Hinn family left our home in Israel and headed over the azure-blue waters of the Mediterranean, I remember look out the window of the airplane and inwardly saying one last farewell to the only home I’d ever known.

When we walked through customs in Toronto, we were entering an uncertain future. We arrived with the clothes on our backs, a few possessions in our suitcases, and very little money from what we had sold in Jaffa.

My father had no promise of a job. Our first housing was a small, rented apartment. Everything seemed so foreign. I thought I knew a little English from watching the few American television programs as a child, yet I found it incredibly intimidating to be totally surrounded by people who spoke the language.

I will never forget the conviction and belief my father revealed no matter what obstacles he faced. He began applying for positions, and soon he landed a job selling insurance. Whether it was his self-confidence in dealing with people of all cultures or simply the desperate pressure of having many mouths to feed, he quickly became a success in his new occupation. Only a few months after arriving in Canada as total strangers in this new land, my father moved us into our own home at 48 Crossbow Crescent in the North York section of Toronto.

The 5,757-mile move had changed everything, it seemed, for the Hinn family. Yet for me, the changes were only a foretaste of what was to come.

Near our new home was Georges Vanier Secondary School, where I asked Jesus to come into my heart. And it was in my upstairs bedroom that I first uttered the phrase, “Good morning, Holy Spirit”—words that would revolutionize my life and eventually become the background for my international best-selling book that opened worldwide doors for this ministry!

Our Forefathers—Examples of Faith

Each of us is on a journey. For believers, it is a journey of faith. Thankfully, in Hebrews 11:1-6, from the “Faith Chapter,” we have a well-worn map to the seven revelations of faith, and on this foundation we can move forward on this proven path to learning how to walk with trust and reliance, no matter where the road leads.

Let me share those seven tremendous revelations of faith as modeled by our forefathers:

1. Faith enables you to receive substance.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). Faith is, not was or will be. It is present tense. If faith is not in the present, it is not faith. It is also not hope. Hope is mental, but faith is spiritual. Hope is a product of the mind (1 Thessalonians 5:8), while faith is birthed in the heart (Romans 10:10). Faith brings that which is of the spirit into your material world and supernaturally gives it substance.

2. Faith enables you to receive evidence.
Faith is “the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). When you live by faith, you become so empowered by the invisible world that it is evidence in your daily walk with God. You are no longer controlled by the visible, but rather influenced by the spiritual. Your actions are not motivated by what you see with your physical eyes, because faith operates beyond the natural senses. You see things from a different perspective because you view everything through the “eyes of faith.”

3. Faith enables you to obtain a good report in the sight of God.
“For by it the elders obtained a good report” (Hebrews 11:2). How does God view your life? In the end, this is all that really counts. Like the Old Testament elders, when you live by faith, you obtain a good report in God’s sight. That should mean everything to each believer!

4. Faith enables you to understand spiritual things.
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). Faith gives understanding. You cannot explain how healing happens. You simply receive your healing by faith, and you keep it by faith—not by understanding.

5. Faith enables you to offer God a more excellent sacrifice.
“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh” (Hebrews 11:4). Faith enables you to offer God a sacrifice of praise that is not dependent on your emotional and mental state. The Word says, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10). Faith is an exercise of the heart, not the mind or emotions. Your circumstances may not be the greatest, but you can still use your “eyes of faith” and praise Him for things unseen.

6. Faith enables you to be translated from the natural world to the spiritual world.
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him” (Hebrews 11:5). God is more interested in your spiritual growth than your comfort. He permits problems in your life so you will continue to grow in faith and “through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). God knows that if your focus remains on the visible, your attention will not be on the spiritual. He desires to deliver you out of your challenges into the realm of miracles He has in store for you. This happens by faith! Faith translates you from darkness to light, from bondage to liberty, from the world you are in to the one where you ought to be.

7. Faith enables you to please God.
“By faith Enock was translated…for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:6). Faith enables you to please God, for “without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

How to Receive These Seven Revelations

By faith! It is crucial that you develop your faith. God gives you a measure of faith, but you must increase it (Romans 12:3). Faith is essential, for Scripture says that you cannot please Almighty God without it. Therefore, you must develop it.

In Romans 4, the Apostle Paul describes the development of Abraham’s faith. Abraham wasn’t always strong in faith. For example, he was fearful and lied to Abimelech. On another occasion, he was unbelieving and produced Ishmael by Hagar the handmaid. However, Abraham’s faith increased when he “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform” (Romans 4:20-21).

In the natural, Abraham was elderly and childless, but God had promised he would have a son. Then God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, which means “the father of many nations.” Imagine! Every time Abraham introduced himself to someone, he was saying, “I am the father of many nations.” Each time he spoke his own name he was affirming God’s Word, and his faith continued to grow and develop.

Results of Faith

Faith develops by hearing and believing God’s Word (Romans 10:17). And as your own faith develops in the seven areas of revelation, you will see results—in these specific areas:

Compass

  • Justification
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1 NKJV).
  • Security
“For this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue… Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:5-11).
  • Answered prayer
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).
  • Healing
“And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven” (James 5:15).
  • Victory
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:4).
  • Purity
“Purifying their hearts by faith” (Acts 15:9).
  • The ability to walk by faith
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

These are the results as your faith is developed. Then, as I mention earlier, your faith truly sees the invisible, believes the impossible, and does the incredible!

Best of all, this kind of faith can be yours! With greater understanding than you’ve ever imagined, from the depths of your heart you can sing the words to this grand old hymn:

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hands hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me
