The place of the Word in your life determines your victories and successes in life. It is your manual for life on earth. This article emphasizes the importance of having the word of the Lord as number one priority in your life.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth – John 1:1, 1:3-5, 1:14 (NKJV). But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God – I Corinthians 1:24 (NKJV).
Many believing Christians have time for so many things but very little time for the Word of God. They have time for church services and activities, their businesses, career, education and family. Some also have time for vacations or recreation. All these are important but when little time is devoted to the study and meditation of God’s Word, they will not yield their best to you.
You are a product of the Word and you are maintained by it (Hebrews 1:3). Therefore, it is wisdom to consciously sharpen and polish yourself with the Word of God. Also, as a child of God the Word of the Lord is the food for your regenerated spirit. Lack of the Word is to starve your spirit of the needed nutrient to be healthy and powerful. Lack of it will also not allow you to grow to maturity where you will be able to skillfully exercise your authority in Christ (Hebrews 5:12-14).
Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1-5, 1:14), in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). He is the wisdom and power of God (1 Corinthians 1:24), as such, the more of God’s Word in you the more the wisdom and power of God you manifest. Christ in you is your hope of glory. You need more of the word to live an overcomer’s life. How the Father desires that you are full of God (Ephesians 3:17-19)!
You are what you eat. This is true physically, mentally and much more spiritually. The Word of the Lord in you affects what you say, think and do and as such affects what you can achieve and what comes to you. The Word of God is what you need for a positive change in your life. The world was created by the Word and is maintained by it, and so it takes you having access to the Word and full grip of it to be on top of the affairs of life. What value do you place on the words in the bible that you have?
God’s Word is the rod with which you do exploits. It puts you on the same cadre with the Lord where you create things and bring about changes as your Father. With the Word of God in you spoken by faith, you manifest God on earth and bring glory to God’s name. The world is waiting for your manifestation (Romans 8:19).
In conclusion, give high value to the Word and it will affect how committed you will be to the study and meditation of it. Make it a priority in your life and every other thing will fall into their rightful places. Should you choose what should be forfeited for the day, the study of the word should not be among them. It is life to them that find it and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22).
