Today’s Key Scripture

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:24

As you grow in the Lord, responding in obedience to His guidance, the Father will entrust more and more to you—more responsibilities, more power, more authority, more blessings, and more challenges. He knows He can share His heart’s desire (His will) with you and your family members because you obey Him.

Bear in mind that maturing in the Lord is a process. No one steps without fail on every steppingstone. No one avoids every stumbling block every time. It’s a walk of faith.

Our fellowship with God Almighty is a relationship that must be exercised and strengthened. It requires us to become acquainted with God and His ways.

Jesus Christ said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

The walk of faith requires diligence: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

When you stumble, get up! Don’t wallow in shame. Ask God to forgive you. Then commit yourself to getting back and staying in the center of His will, fellowshipping with Him daily.

A Prayer for Today

My heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have brought me safely to this new day. I seek to abide in You, even as Your words abide in me. Grant me a deeper relationship with You today. Protect me with Your mighty power. And direct me to do what is right in Your sight as I seek to be Your hands extended to a lost, hurting, and hungry world. I pray this through Jesus Christ, my Lord, amen.
