Key Scripture

“The first thing I want you to do is to pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.”

— 1 Timothy 2:1-3, msg

God created mankind for fellowship and companionship. We were made in His image (Genesis 1:27).

Our Father not only established a relationship with His children but continues to encourage us to be concerned for others. It is the foundation of spiritual agreement.

The Bible admonishes us to:

  • Comfort one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18).
  • Edify one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
  • Forgive one another (Colossians 3:13).
  • Serve one another (Galatians 5:13).
  • Consider one another (Hebrews 10:24).
  • Be kind one to another (Ephesians 4:2).
  • Love one another (John 13:34).

Today’s key scripture, 1 Timothy 2:1-3, in addition to exhorting us to pray for one another, offers very specific prayers so that all will be saved and come into the knowledge of His truth.

Our purpose on earth is ultimately for souls to be saved and to prepare us to live together in heavenly harmony.

A Prayer for Today

My heavenly Father, I pray for revival to sweep over my community, the nation, and the world. I pray for my lost loved ones to accept You before it is too late. And as Your return nears, I pray for You to help me to be used to bring healing, deliverance, signs, wonders, miracles, harmony, joy, and peace to those around me. I look forward today to all You have in store for me, and I pray all this in Jesus’ name, amen.
