Today’s Key Scripture

“The temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him?”

— 2 Chronicles 2:5-6

What was Solomon’s next step?

Scripture tells us that he announced the construction project to the world. Solomon sent a message to Hiram, king of Tyre: “Behold, I am building a temple for the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to Him” (2 Chronicles 2:4).

Solomon received the vision for building a house of prayer and worship, but he took the next step. He shared the vision. When you verbalize a vision, it is transformed from the abstract to the concrete. It is also self-motivating.

Scripture declares, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). Some people scoff at the phrase, calling it “confess it and possess it,” but those words contain a great truth.

God gave a prophecy to Jeremiah, telling him to “declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not” (Jeremiah 50:2, KJV). Likewise, the Lord told Habakkuk, “Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it” (Habakkuk 2:2, KJV).

Don’t be timid about communicating the details of the vision God places in your heart. Sharing the vision brings victory!

A Prayer for Today

O Lord, help me to share Your vision for victory in every area of my life. Keep me in the center of Your will so I don’t get in the way of what You desire to do in my life. I’m so grateful for the promise of Your wisdom. From early in the morning and throughout the day and night, may I seek Your insight continually. Teach me to trust You as I pray. Grant that I may increasingly live pleasing in your sight, seeking Your will, interceding for others, and giving all glory to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
