Psalm 116:15 declares, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Certainly, this is true for Nancy Harmon, the anointed musician and evangelist who served God so faithfully throughout her life.

She began playing piano and organ at a very early age, then entered the ministry full-time at the age of thirteen. She soon became recognized far and wide as a powerful singer and songwriter of such classics as “I’ve Come Too Far To Look Back,” “The Blood Bought Church,” and “This Is the Day.”

In 1968, she began leading the Victory Voices, a traveling choir, then in 1975, she launched the television program, “Love Special,” broadcast on 140 television stations across the nation. Her soulful style and anointed songs attracted untold multitudes of fans over the course of her career.

Pastor Benny Hinn has joined with other leaders in honoring his long-time friend:

Even as I grieve the passing of Nancy Harmon, I’m also rejoicing that she has graduated to her remarkable heavenly reward. I’ve been blessed to have known this very special sister in Christ throughout most of my 50 years of ministry, and what a blessing she has been, both to me and to my partners around the globe. Not only did she become a crowd favorite during a number of This Is Your Day broadcasts, but she was truly extraordinarily anointed in her dynamic onstage presence during our miracle crusades. I especially remember an amazing time at a Jamaica crusade in 1999. She was a gift from God who touched the hearts of all ages and cultures. I never ceased to be amazed at her remarkable gift. And when she sang, “The Blood Bought Church,” everyone in the audience was ready to be raptured!

There is no telling how many people came to Christ and were strengthened by her unique ministry. In fact, I can’t even begin to imagine her welcoming reception and rejoicing taking place in heaven right now!

Psalm 37:23 declares that a person’s steps are “ordered by the Lord.” Likewise, the apostle Paul wrote, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ’ (Philippians 1:6). Certainly, these precious verses shone through Nancy Harmon throughout her life.

And though her passing is such a loss for family and friends, what a blessing for Nancy to now be at home eternally with her heavenly Father, whom she served so faithfully!
