Today’s Key Scripture

“When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

— John 16:13

The longer I serve God, the more I’m convinced of how much He wants to speak and share His will with each of us.

The passage in John 16:13 tells us three things about the Holy Spirit and God’s will for each us:

  1. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. If we are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, He will use the Word of God to help us make the right decisions as we seek His will.
  2. The Holy Spirit speaks to us on behalf of God. As a believer, the Holy Spirit is already speaking to you. The more you listen and obey, the better you hear Him.
  3. The Holy Spirit shows us things to come. When making decisions, the Holy Spirit can reveal future events that may affect or be affected by that decision.

You have the Holy Spirit at work in your life guiding you into all truth, speaking on behalf of God, and showing you things to come.

I pray you will spend extra time with Him in the coming days and weeks, seeking to understand the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.

A Prayer for Today

Precious Father, You are my Guide. You point me to all truth. You alone know what is best for me, so I willingly stand before You today to ask for Your direction, help, patience, and understanding. Teach me to have faith when I am impatient. I know You have a plan for me, so I ask You to help me endure to the end so I am able to reap the harvests You already have planned for me. Thank You, Father, for Your divine intervention in every area of my life. I rejoice in Your holiness and provision. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
