Today’s Key Scripture

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

— Hebrews 13:20-21

God desires for us to pray effectively as we seek to reach the world, even as He has chosen to use us to be His hands extended.

To participate in His plan, however, requires faith in His plan and an active belief that helps us carry out that plan.

Archimedes, upon discovering the power of the lever, said, “If you find me a fulcrum to rest my lever upon, I can move the world.” One of the Greek meanings of the New Testament words for “faith” and “belief” is fulcrum. With faith, you have a supernatural lever. With that fulcrum you can participate in God’s plan with mountain-moving faith.

Believing is faith in motion. It means applying the truth. Faith and believing become stronger as we exercise them. They also tend to become weaker when we neglect them. Those who are active in participating in God’s plan will certainly become stronger.

Faith and believing are not limited. This is why Jesus tells us, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Take God at His word by receiving His gift of faith, and then begin to leverage the world as you believe and participate more and more in His plan. This is a major step toward praying effectively and communicating intimately with Him every day.

A Prayer for Today

Precious Lord, I want more of You today. I desire to be used in Your service to reach others. I thank You for every door You are opening, and I surrender myself to You, even as I desire to become closer and more intimate with You every day. I pray that the harvest fields will be filled with people of all ages and cultures who feel Your Holy Spirit drawing them to you. May every stronghold of the Enemy that seeks to enslave and destroy be barricaded from the unsaved. I pray all this in the name of Jesus, amen.

Coming Next Month

July’s Good Morning, Holy Spirit, Daily Devotionals will focus on overcoming every challenge.

When sin entered into the heart of Adam and Eve, they hid themselves from the presence of the Lord. Notice that they hid from the Lord, not in the Lord. Hiding from Him is prayerlessness and brings failure in life. Hiding in Him is prayer, closeness, intimacy, and victory. We are commanded to hide in Him, not from Him.

God’s Word commands: “Delight yourself also in the Lord; and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).

It’s time to delight in Him, to seek to put Him first in your life, and to spend time every day with God in prayer!
