Today’s Key Scripture

“These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.”

— Acts 17:6

At Thessalonica, Paul and Silas were involved in a near riot. The Jews were so jealous of the crowds who were listening to Paul explain the Scriptures that they rounded up some unsavory characters at the marketplace, formed a mob, and started a riot in the city:

And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas. But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. (Acts 17:4-5)

The reputations of Paul and Silas preceded them, and news of their activities spread quickly. Almost everywhere they went, a revival began, spreading from place to place. People turned to Christ, healings took place, and the Spirit of God worked mightily.

And He wants to do the same through you today. He truly wants to change your world.

Years ago, someone told me, “Benny, the quickest way to turn your world upside down is to turn yourself right side up.” It is still good advice today!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, change my world as You change my heart. Your presence in my life changes everything, even as it empowers me to trust in You and to live every moment of every day focused on knowing that You want the very best for me. I’m so grateful to You for everything You are doing in my life. I praise You today for all You are bringing to pass. You are lovely and loving, even when I am unlovable. I want to be more like You. Thank You for promising that if I draw near to You, You will draw near to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
