I was in my early teens when our family moved from Israel to Canada, and I remember the first time we drove from Toronto to the border of the United States to see the mighty Niagara Falls.

It was so awesome that my heart almost stopped. I can still recall the guide telling us, “Hundreds of thousands of people have lights in their homes and power in their factories because of the hydroelectric energy that is harnessed here.”

The secret of Niagara’s far-reaching impact is that enormous amounts of water have been channeled into one specific location. It’s concentrated.

My dear friend, flowing inside you is something even more powerful. The Almighty has granted special abilities to you, but unless these God-sized talents are focused through prayer, they will be wasted or dissipated.

It is vital that you seek God’s face until His one purpose for your life becomes evident. Then begin to channel every ounce of your energy into that one mighty mission.

Would you like your prayers to be more powerful? Focus on spending time in God’s presence. He gives confidence. He answers prayers. And He alone brings victory to your life.

 

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I’m asking that Your Holy Spirit’s mighty presence engulf me today. I stand upon Your promises! I thirst for You. I need You. I desire to spend time with You. You know my thoughts and intents already, so I ask You to draw me closer to You as I open my heart to You. Let me dwell in sweet intimacy with You every day of my life. Take control of my life. I need the confidence that comes only from You. I desire the victory that only You can give. I ask all these things in Your most precious name, my Savior and my Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen, and amen.
