Key Scripture:
And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord.
—Acts 5:12
For the early church, not only did agreement bring great power and grace, but another remarkable result as God began to pour out heaven’s bounty on the believers. The world tells us:
And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. (Acts 4:34-35)
Unique times call for unusual methods. This, most definitely, was an exceptional moment in history. The church had just been birthed. The first century believers would endure both incredible persecution and monumental victories.
During the coming weeks, months, and years, those who banded together in one accord, seeing God’s supernatural economy at work, would spread throughout the known world with unshakable faith and extraordinary boldness.
The lessons they learned during the days immediately after Pentecost would eventually send shock waves around the globe!
Why is important to pray together? Unity results in abundance! The power that is available when believers unite is the source of unlimited blessing.
A Prayer for Today:
Good Morning, Holy Spirit! Help me to stand in agreement with other believes so the world can be reached with the life-saving and miracle-working power. Help me to dwell in Your presence, to deal wisely in life, and live honorably in everything I do today. Guide me as I spend time in fellowship with You and with other believers. Direct my paths. Draw me closer to You today. Help me to want what You desire in my life. Help me think and act in harmony with Your Word. I want more of You and less of me. I pray all this in the Name above all names, Amen!
